The Office of Transportation Services is announcing the following changes regarding Summer 2021 parking permits.

Summer 2021 semester permits for Girard Park Parking Tower will be sold for $100 beginning Tuesday, May 11. Permits will be active from Tuesday, May 11, through Sunday, Aug. 1, and allow parking on the third through sixth floors.

Hourly parking is available on the first through third floors of the Girard Park Parking Tower for $1.25 per hour with no minimum. Payment may be made via the kiosks by the elevators and stairs on the first through third floors of the garage or via the ParkMobile app.

The following information has been updated.

 

Spring 2021 semester parking permits will expire on Friday, May 7, for residents, Cajun Field commuter students, student workers, adjunct instructors, graduate assistants, and those who park in the Girard Park Parking Tower. If you need to park on campus after May 7, you must purchase a Summer 2021 parking permit.

Summer 2021 Permit Information

Summer 2021 permits will go on sale Thursday, May 6, for commuter students and student workers. Residential student and graduate assistant permits will be available for purchase on Tuesday, May 11.

All summer permits will expire on Saturday, Aug. 7.

Permit Pricing

Summer permit pricing will be as follows:

  • Residential permits - $20
  • Commuter students:
    • A Cajun Field commuter permit is free, but you must obtain the Summer 2021 permit to park at Cajun Field.
    • Girard Park Parking Tower – Summer 2021 semester permits for Girard Park Parking Tower will be sold for $100 beginning Tuesday, May 11. Permits will be active from Tuesday, May 11, through Sunday, Aug. 1, and allow parking on the third through sixth floors.
      • Hourly parking is available on the first through third floors of the Girard Park Parking Tower for $1.25 per hour with no minimum. Payment may be made via the kiosks by the elevators and stairs on the first through third floors of the garage or via the ParkMobile app.
    • Other parking that is available through the ParkMobile app at $1 per hour with no minimum include:
    • 333 E. University Ave.
    • 119 W. St. Mary Blvd. (behind Burger King)
    • 101 Mildred St.
    • Zone 17 – the corner closest to UPA Drive
  • Student workers - $20
  • Student Worker permit parking will be located on the third through fifth floors of Taft Street Parking Garage for the Summer 2021 semester. Parking on the correct floors will be strictly enforced.
  • All student workers should contact their department to request to be placed on the parking request list for Summer 2021.
  • Graduate Assistant permits will be in the Perimeter zones. At this time, those with Summer 2021 Graduate Assistant permits may park on the main campus through Saturday, July 31. Parking is restricted to open employee lots only and not in gated areas, residential lots, or reserved parking spaces.
  • Graduate assistants - $20

Permit Purchase Options

Purchase your parking permit online or at the Office of Transportation Services. To purchase online:

  • Log into ULink.
  • On the Campus Services tab, in the Parking and Transportation section, click the Access My Parking Account link.
  • Select Get Permits and follow the prompts.
  • Your permit is successfully purchased when you receive a confirmation email to your University-issued email address. If you do not receive confirmation, email the Office of Transportation Services at parking@louisiana.edu.

You can also purchase a permit at the Office of Transportation Services at 619 McKinley St., suite 100. You must have your student ID, vehicle registration, and payment. Payments accepted include debit/credit card, money order, and Cajun Cash. Checks and cash are not accepted.

The lobby will be open through Monday, Aug. 2, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. - noon on Friday.

Handicapped-Accessible Parking Permits

Individuals who have previously purchased a commuter student handicapped-accessible parking permit and whose state-issued credentials are still active may email geauxpark@louisiana.edu to request to purchase a permit online.

Individuals who have not previously purchased a commuter student handicapped-accessible parking permit with the Office of Transportation Services may send a scan of their driver’s license, mobility card and placard or vehicle registration for review. A confirmation email will be sent within 2 business days with instructions on how to purchase a handicap permit.

Transportation Services Office Hours

The Office of Transportation Services is in the Olivier Parking Tower at 619 McKinley St, suite 100. The lobby will be open through Monday, Aug. 2, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. - noon on Friday.
